DECONSTRUCTION

Have the last few years been hard for you as a believer?

You aren’t alone. Many people like you have left their communities, churches, and even families in response to the crisis of faith they have felt in response to the political and cultural stress present in our country. Wherever you are in your faith journey or deconstruction journey, you deserve a non-judgmental, non-directive space to explore, wonder, lament, and express frustrations, grief, and doubt.

As your therapist, my goal is to create a safe space for you to explore the thoughts and feelings about your faith that that have otherwise been “untouchable”. Consent is a value of mine, so I strive to stay out of your way and be reflective rather than influential when it comes to you navigating what you believe and why. My role is not to sway you either way but rather to be a source of empathy. Deconstruction can be terribly painful and isolating; anger and grief are both common side effects. Having the support of a licensed psychotherapist who ALSO has extensive experience working with the Christian community + training in integration can make all the difference.

Your big feelings about your faith and the big questions that you wrestle with can be processed in this space. If you’re interested in learning more, give me a call or send me an email to set up a consultation.
