Over 40 million adults in the U.S. (19.1%) have an anxiety disorder

Imagine a life without anxiety. One where you don’t have to second-guess every social interaction (because instead of self-doubt you feel at ease with yourself;) you rest easy at night, not tossing and turning as you worry about things outside of your control but rather you know how to “turn your brain off”; in place of catastrophizing, you’re able to soothe and care for yourself in times of distress; you live life fully without burning out, because your mind and body are at peace, your energy and attention focused and goal-directed rather than scattered.
This life is not far from reach. Anxiety, though debilitating, IS treatable. Using a combination of trauma informed mindfulness based techniques, attachment theory, and relational work, I approach anxiety treatment from the “bottom-up”.
What does “bottom up” mean? In a bottom-up approach, we first figure out how your particular nervous system operates to feel safe. We collaboratively work on increasing your emotional and physical awareness, and eventually work to increase positive experiences and skills in your life. Additionally, I take a holistic approach. I consider therapy to be an effective tool, but one of many helpful tools in the anxiety treatment “tool belt”.
If anxiety is taking away from your quality of life, it is time to reach out for support.
