Good Faith Estimate & No Surprises Act

As required by Federal Legislation, effective January 1, 2022 (the “No Surprises Act”) this Practice is required to provide you with a good faith estimate (GFE) for services. A separate document provided to you will include the information in a way that complies with this legislation. Upon further clarification on this Act, this page will be updated.

Psychotherapy has unique ethical codes and much of the information required under the new legislation cannot be provided in advance. All prospective patients will thus be provided with a general document outlining the practice’s current full fee schedule for all services, including the billing codes that will be used. This document will be provided prior to the intake session and will require a signature before a session can occur. Since service duration and length are determined between patient and therapist (and can change based on the progress the individual is making in therapy), an estimate of therapy costs will be provided as if they are seen on a weekly basis for one year. Patients are strongly encouraged to reach out to their insurance provider and ask about reimbursement rates for the codes provided should they be requesting a superbill from Therapy with Jordan. At no time will this practice speak to an insurance provider.

As it would be unethical to do so, diagnoses for patients are NOT provided prior to meeting with patients. Diagnoses are provided after careful review of clinical symptoms and observations, assessments (when applicable), and collateral information from parents, schools, and additional providers. A diagnosis from another provider does not guarantee the same diagnosis.
